Kanoa Igarashi is currently in El Salvador for the Surf City El Salvador Pro. Unfortunately, his stint in the competition ended earlier today, after a round of 32 loss to Crosby Colapinto. However, his latest post to YouTube hearkens back to the beginning of the competition, giving a behind-the-scenes look at what went into the CT surfer’s Central American expedition.
The edit begins a few days before the start of the event, and alternates between Igarashi relaxing in his rental and tearing up Salvadorean waves. Like the other videos in this series from Igarashi, entitled Eye of The Storm, it provides a refreshingly unvarnished look at what actually goes into a life on the Championship Tour. Along the way, he also bonds with the locals, takes time to watch golf, and of course, surfs a few WSL heats.
It’s tough work, but someone’s gotta do it.
