If you spend any time at all on the internet and you enjoy surfing, you’re likely aware that Kelly Slater has been spending some time in Bali. Pandemic aside, it’s a good time to be there: the waves have been good and the crowds have been light. In recent days, though, those back-to-back-to-back-to-back swells that battered the Indonesian coastline have died a little. That doesn’t mean the waves are bad, though — it just means they’re a little smaller. Kelly, ever the frothing grom, showed up early to Keramas on September 12. “The wind was already starting to ruffle the smooth morning conditions when Kelly turned up to Bali’s favorite right,” wrote Surfers of Bali. “Maybe he was trying to avoid the early morning traffic? There were fewer people in the water by the time he hit the lineup and he did catch a bunch of waves in a relatively short period of time.”
Eleven waves, to be exact. Well, the 11 that you see above. Eleven waves from the 11-time world champion.
