Can we just talk for a second about how amazing surfing is? It’s old hat, but worth mentioning again: we ride these lumps of water that have traveled thousands of miles to break underneath our funny little foam contraptions. And for some strange reason, it is the most fun a person can possibly have. Koa Rothman knows this. He knows because he’s spent his whole life doing it, and he’s not sick of doing it. As shown in the first few minutes of his most recent vlog, Koa lives in paradise — not just on the North Shore, but literally right on the North Shore. “In this video,” he wrote, “I explain to you why I love surfing and why that passion for surfing will never go away.”
Even on the smallest of days, a day in the water is better than any other day. Of course, it’s better when the waves get really good, but that’s just a waiting game. And with a solid swell on the way, Koa’s days are just going to get better and better.
