Have you heard the name Kyle Kennelly? There’s a good chance you have, and if it sounds unfamiliar, there’s a good chance you seen him surfing. He’s a man with a style that’s unmistakable. He’s also a man who enjoys sliding around on a not-so-normal board. In this case, it’s a 6’9″ Joey Bookout “Morning of the Beers” model with a 9.5″ True Ames PHD Volan fin—a shape and setup that might’ve been a little more normal in the ’70s, but not so much these days. But just because it looks old doesn’t mean it doesn’t work… it just means it works differently. And Kennelly knows exactly how that should look.
