Kyle Thiermann is no slouch when it comes to surfing big waves. The guy’s been on a mission to surf the biggest waves he can find for quite some time now, and he’s been documenting the entire journey. You can see more of it on his Youtube page, but the one above is one of the best.
It’s not every day you see someone surfing massive waves on a foamie. They’re generally used by learners, people that aren’t too concerned with high-performance surfing, or Jamie O’Brien. And if you’re not stuck in a certain mindset, you can have a blast. Thiermann picked up a beaten and battered foam board and paddled out to the massive Mexican beachbreak in far less than ideal conditions… and although he got absolutely worked, he came back smiling, as always.
