Laurie Towner is a big wave aficionado. Here’s done it all and seen it all, surfed some of the world’s biggest, baddest waves on the planet and done it with style and grace.
Of course, getting to that stage takes a lot of wipeouts, and taking a lot of wipeouts inevitably leads to developing a few tricks of the trade. Much like the magic trick you see above, where Towner lets go of the rope on a Teahupoo beast, doesn’t like what he sees, bails, penetrates the trough just perfectly, and somehow ends up out the back. From the movie Teahupoo Raw and Uncut, it’s just another example of why Towner’s so good at what he does.
