Tom Curren was never really comfortable with his place in the public eye. Only when it really benefited something big did he use it to bring awareness–his boycott of the ’85 World Circuit events in South Africa over apartheid, for example.
Despite his best efforts to remain behind closed doors, the surf world loves him. And in the last few years, we’ve fallen in love Lee-Ann, his daughter. Although she is also out of the public eye for the majority of her life, Lee-Ann absolutely rips, and everyone knows it. Every now and then, we’re gifted an edit featuring one of the two–and this one is so great because LeeAnn’s surfing is paired with her father’s music.
