Surfing’s funny. Waves often feel much longer than they actually are. Ten seconds on a good wave can stretch out in the moment, but the weird thing is that you often sort of… black out. Think about it. Do you actually remember every second of some of the best waves of your life? Or just the highlights and the feeling? I’d wager that the average good ride is somewhere between 10 and 20 seconds. So a two-minute ride? That’s a real leg burner.
The wave you see here was surfed by Luis Perloiro, a Portuguese surfer with legs of steel. He surfed this wave for a pretty staggering two minutes and 18 seconds. It’s a unique wave; a long left that works perfectly when all the stars align.
“During May 2026, Cabo Ledo in Angola turned ON for a few days,” Perloiro wrote on YouTube, “and some waves were real leg burners, just like this one.”
