Mason Ho is sort of killing it lately. Well, he’s actually been killing it since birth, but after being picked up by Rip Curl, finishing 2nd in the Volcom Pipe Pro, winning the Overall Performance Award by Clif Bar this week, and donating $10,000 to Sunset Beach Elementary, his legendary status is tipping the Richter scale at the moment. And he’s doing it all with a great attitude and a big humble smile on his face.
The Clif Overall Performance Award presented by Surfline was judged by a panel of legendary surfers, including of Gerry Lopez, Pancho Sullivan, Ross Williams, and Shawn Briley. The award is given to the surfer who exhibits, more than any other surfer, outstanding skill, commitment to both the sport and community, courage and style while consistently riding the most challenging waves on the North Shore.
Mason received $10,000 and another $10,000 toward to the charity of his choice. Being that Sunset Beach Elementary School was where it all started for him, Mason decided to give back to the community by donating the $10k to his old stomping grounds. Good on Mason and Clif Bar for facilitating such a worthy charity.
