If you’ve been keeping up on Mason Ho’s world travels lately, you’ve seen some Atlantic Ocean adventures heavily focused on a slab Mason came across a decade ago, sprinkled in with a Search for new, unfamiliar, but memorable coldwater waves. Admittedly, it is exactly the kind of wave the world loves to watch Mason Ho toy with. It’s small but it’s sketchy, shallow, and…sketchy.
But with Gearoid McDaid serving as his honorary host it’s not like the guy was going to venture from the warm waters of Hawaii, go clear across the globe, wear head-to-toe neoprene for weeks, and surf the same wave for an entire trip. The sixth installment of Medieval Madness puts a heaving, hollow left at center stage. It may or may not resemble another wave we’ve seen Mason surf before? We just can’t quite put our finger on it…
“I thought I was at Pipe once or twice.”
