What could possibly qualify as one of the all-time favorite waves of someone like Mason Ho? Growing up on the North Shore, the man was raised on some of the world’s best. As an adult, he gets to travel around the world, seeking out perfect breaks (though he just as often opts for the strangest, most dangerous waves he can find). After a while, even the likes of Pipeline must start to seem a little commonplace.
It turns out one of the answers is in Mexico, an uncrowded, perfect, long barrel on sand. After years of searching, he finally landed on the spot way back in 2021, when he dropped an edit of himself surfing “Punto Magico” on a …Lost Little Wing.
Now, he has returned.
Ho was joined by lifelong friend Baby Bear for a return to the “magical” wave, for what he dubbed “possibly one of the funnest surf trips ever.” He seems to have the footage to back it up, too. According to the YouTube description, clips from the trip were saved for the long-awaited Snapt 5. The best of the best, though, will be held for Ritualistic Tendencies, the debut film from Ritual Vision, the eyewear brand helmed by Noa Deane, Mikey Wright, Harry Bryant and Wade Carroll.
