Teahupo’o was ramping up over the last week or so. A pile of big-wave surfers, including Koa Rothman and Eli Olson, looked at the forecast and deemed it good enough to book last minute flights. Their efforts, judging from the footage, have been well-rewarded. On May 1, things came to a head and Teahupo’o, as evidenced by the drone footage you see above. The wave was performing about as well as anyone could ever hope for.
