Mick must be getting tired of the spotlight. After his bare-knuckled brawl with a shark, he can’t make a move without TMZ-style coverage all over the Interwebs. Mick this, Mick that. But here’s something that’s actually awesome.
Mick joined big-wave charger Mark Matthews for a session out at Tasmania’s Shipstern Bluff. Typically not a XXL surfer, Mick held his own with triple overhead tubes and a classic Shipsterns elevator drop. And of course, the session made the local news, because every time Mick moves a muscle these days it’s deemed newsworthy.
The broadcaster calls him a “gladiator of the surf.” Mick, The Gladiator. New nickname? Also this gem, in classic robotic news jargon: “Mick described it as, ‘the funnest day ever.’”
