In mid-May, we were alerted to a day at Impossibles that was really, really good. It was May 10, and for a few short hours, everything lined up just perfectly. The tide was right, the wind was offshore, and the swell was just about perfect. The footage from Impossibles that alerted to that fact was a short, so we looked for more. And we found more.
Surfers of Bali, purveyors of the finest YouTube surf videos, dropped the little ditty you see above onto the internet on the morning of May 12. It too shows Impossibles on May 10, but it’s a little longer and a shows a few more angles of just how good it was.
The left reefs of Bali’s Bukit lit up on the 10th of May, with overhead lines marching in all afternoon on the low tide,” SOB wrote. “Impossibles was a bit of a crap shoot (as usual), but there were some gems that peeled down the reef for a hundred meters or two. It was probably the biggest swell of the season so far. It wasn’t huge and it dropped off a fair bit the following day, but it looks like we’ll get another decent push in a couple of days.”
And you can bet we’ll be watching… until, that is, we can get there.
