The relationship between European surfers and Morocco has long since been compared to that of American surfers and Mexico. Venture south and you’re bound to encounter friendly people, good food, and a wealth of surf at the end of dusty roads.
Morocco, especially, is known for its concentration of right-hand point breaks that, at a smaller size, are ideal for those with a penchant for longer craft.
Last year, Thomas Martin skipped south with videographer Julien Binch Binet to partake, and the above is the result.
“If you bring together this endless wave machine and a slakeless dude like [Thomas], you end up with hours of ridiculously long rides,” said Julien. “The only moment breaking the unstoppable/perpetual loop was just the time needed to swallow an omelet berbere at the harbor. Soon that funny and cheerful bearded guy was surnamed Ali Baba by the whole local scene. Here is a little sum-up of his daily routine in Imsouane!”
