The Inertia

As much as surfers would like for it not to be true, the waves suck sometimes. And if you’re one of those highbrows who seldom sees waves below head-high, this message is not for you. And you should probably go enjoy your waves, you jerk. Here in Southern California, flat spells are more common than shoulder hoppers at First Point, Malibu. One of the best things you can do to help your surfing in small waves is choosing the proper equipment. Nate Yeomans opts for the LIB x Lost 5′ 3″ Puddle Jumper. Here’s what Lost has to say about the board:

This board features a concave bottom that transitions to V in the tail. The wide outline makes for easy wave catching and down the line glide and stability. The concave bottom adds lift and increased rail curve, which allows radical top to bottom surfing. The straight rail line and V in the tail keep the board moving forward and hold in during hard carving maneuvers.
