The Inertia

In photography, golden hour, sometimes referred to as magic hour, is a period shortly after sunrise or before sunset during which daylight is redder and softer than when the sun is higher in the sky. In layman’s terms, it’s that special time of day when you stop and realize how beautiful it is to be alive. Throw a beautiful little swell and a steady offshore wind into the equation and what you have is a state of being that is dangling somewhere in between Heaven and Earth. Such was the case last week when cinematographer Alex DePhillipo caught a few glimpses of New Jersey’s Andrew Gesler ripping around his home, which resulted in two and a half minutes of pure cinematic magic.
