Late December was a wild one at Maverick’s. Some of the best waves in years rolled through the famed big wave spot, and some of the best big wave surfers in the world showed up. Nic Vaughan was one of them, and snagged this monster. After sticking the latest possible drop, Vaughan tried for the channel. The ride has been entered into the Ride of the Year category of the 2015 XXL Big Wave Awards. So far, 2015’s awards are shaping up to be the best ones ever.
