There are a few waves on the planet that are very, very famous. Mention Pipeline, Teahupoo, Jaws, or Nazaré to the average non-surfer and they’ll likely know what you’re talking about. Then there are waves that every surfer knows, but non-surfers might not. Rocky Point. Greenbush. Coxos. And Nokandui.
The latter, of course, is the one you see above. It’s a perfect wave — but it’s not an easy one. Super fast, super hollow, and extraordinarily unforgiving, you need to know what you’re doing. But if you get a good one there, it’s likely going to be one of the best waves of your life. Nobody Surf, a YouTube channel dedicated to featuring a day at some of the world’s best waves, recently picked Nokandui, and the day they picked was one of the best that’s graced the wave in a long, long time.
