With all the extraordinary happenings in surfing this fall (despite a lengthy flat spell in Southern California), a huge amount of beautiful imagery was passed our way.
One of my favorite shots from Teahupoo. Just the atmosphere. May 14th, 2013. Photo: Ben Thouard.
I'm convinced that Rob can pretty much surf on anything under his feet. Here he is from an alaia session in Carlsbad. Photo: Anthony Ghiglia
This is probably the most interesting shot with a story behind it as far as my history of shooting goes. This image was actually the last image on my card that I was using. Andy had made a huge drop out the back and as he rode the wave through the midsection while Kelly was paddling back out watching him navigate the mid-section at Waimea Bay. I wake up every morning staring at this image on my bedroom wall. Thank you Andy for inspiring us again and again. Photo: Patrick Eichstaedt
Aerial view of a pass in French Polynesia. This is an example of a good set up. Shot from my motorized paraglider. Photo: Ben Thouard.

With November out like a lion, we’re into the hottest month of the year, surf-wise, with the Triple Crown in full swing, big swells around the North Shore and the World Tour race coming down the stretch seeing Kelly Slater and Mick Fanning near neck and neck. With that, enjoy the best of a jam-packed month in surf photography.
