If you watch Ben Gravy’s Youtube channel with any sort of regularity, you know that his invite to the Surf Ranch has been pending for some time. Not for lack of trying. Ben’s read Instagram DMs and emails exchanged between him and Kelly on videos past in which Kelly’s been remorseful that the place has been such a zoo lately. Soon, he explained, Ben would get the call-up. Thanks for your patience, etc., etc.
Well, as they say, every dog has his day. And this week Ben Gravy finally swooped into the Surf Ranch.
“I’ve always wanted to get you to Surf Ranch but I have to say, your fans are relentless!” said Kelly in a comment on Ben’s Instagram post about his recent visit. “So even if I didn’t want to make it happen, there’d be a bounty on my head if I avoided it any longer!”
Where literally every other surfer sees two waves (the hyper-engineered matching left and right), Ben Gravy sees six. The two main waves, and four weird little novelty waves including a little wall of whitewater that swirls around the spillover side of the pool. It’s a side of Surf Ranch you’ve likely never seen before, and one that only Ben Gravy would be able to sniff out. Click ahead to the 25-minute mark for the novelty bonanza.
