The Inertia

This is what Valentines Day looked like on the North Shore. No need for roses, date night or sunset couple selfies. Sure, those things happened on February 14th all across the 7 Mile Miracle. But if you were in the lineup at Pipeline or Waimea Bay it’s likely only one relationship was on your mind. Why’s that? Because the Pacific Ocean passed out wave after wave on this three day weekend, leaving little to no time for anything else.

Both waves are typically archaic, filled with carnage and close call wipeouts. Technically that’s exactly what’s being served up here. But a little slow motion and music to set the mood just right is enough to make you forget all the carnage and just fall in love all over again. Besides, is there something else you’d rather have been doing on Valentines Day?
