Chris Klopf grew up surfing the spots north of San Francisco. It was pretty uncomplicated. He started surfing and shooting photos in 1965. It was an idyllic period back then. There weren’t too many surfers on the North Coast. He started documenting surfing after he was surfed out. Back then, surfing came first, and now today, it’s the other way around. He probably gets just as much water time today, except with a camera in his hands. He’s traveled to Indonesia, the Philippines, Central and the South Americas, all over Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Hawaii and some islands and spots he can’t mention.
