The Inertia

Surfing is supposed to be fun. Some people – athletes, brands, competitive circuits – forget that. Yes, it’s a sport and a chance to make a buck, but at its core, surfing is a giddy practice of sailing across a wall of water on a piece of styrofoam. Anything more seems sacrilege.

The folks at Gorilla seem to understand surfing’s foundation of fun (while, of course, making a buck from their often flamboyant gear). And they decided to impart their carefree wave riding philosophy in a new edit promoting their signature fins. We see Nick Rozsa stranded on a psychedelic island with a surfboard yet no fins. But alas, he finds them buried in the sand, allowing him to shred through the kaleidoscopic surf. Blow tails, colorful animation, and hue shifted barrels. Now that’s how a product is sold.
