After a two day wait, the REEF Hawaiian Pro, the first event in the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing is on. Huge, messy conditions roughed up the ocean on Oahu’s North Shore for the last 48 hours, but as the sun rose today, cleaner (though still slightly messy), head-high to overhead conditions revealed themselves.
High surf warnings still persist around Hawaii, as well as a flash flood warning.
The REEF Clash of the Legends hits the water today, with Brad Gerlach (USA); Sunny Garcia (HI); Kaipo Jaquias (HI); and Michael Ho (HI), competing.
