Rob Machado is a man of many surfboards. He can do it all on a high-performance thruster, but as he’s gotten a little longer in the tooth and longer in the hair, his preference has shifted to surfboards that seem to suit his style of surfing perfectly. A little flatter, a little cruisier, sometimes a little longer or a little shorter. The boards he’s riding these days are maybe a little better for someone who’s not surfing maxing Puerto or firing Pipe every day.
Over the 2020 lockdown, Machado had a go-to. It was the Glazer, named after both donuts and Todd Glaser. When he first got on the Glaser a few years ago, he was over the moon about it.
“We’ve been working on this board for years,” he said. “It’s all kind of come to fruition, and now it’s like… I have it. I have the board.”
