We frickin’ love slabs. And as you can image, we get very excited when we see that lovely 4-letter word. Our friends over at MySurf.tv followed two of Australia’s finest slab-hunters, Ryan Hipwood and Mark Mathews, as they go on a day trip to an unknown New South Wales slab, scoring amazing waves with just a handful of locals. “It breaks on a shallow reef,” Hipwood explained. “It doesn’t really have a channel, and a lot of ’em you have to doggy-door it and come out the front. And it’s sharky too.” It’s pretty epic to see Red Bull (Mathews) vs. Monster Energy (Hipwood) go head-to-head in a battle for this day’s slab king. Question is: which energy drink won?
