SANDED is a short film about the art of shaping surfboards in a modern fashion. It is a dramatic look at the mixture of man, machine & chemicals to make a wave riding tool that dates back to the ancient Polynesians. It was shot in one day without any preparation, on a single 400′ roll of film at the Chemistry Surfboards factory in Oceanside, CA.
Timothy Ryan is an award winning producer, writer and editor working in documentary filmmaking and branded entertainment. He began producing his own titles under the Tar Productions name in 2002. His feature directorial debut, On A Rail: Europe, was shown worldwide in festivals and brought home a Telly Award for Outstanding TV Production in Sports. Tim works on campaigns for the industry’s top companies as well as passion projects, which allow for further progression in the creative field. Attracting diverse audiences, his work continues to be shown in film festivals worldwide.
