Skateboarders and officers clashed in San Francisco this week after an informal gathering of skaters in and around Dolores Park in San Francisco. Both sides are blaming each other, however, according to reports, none of the skaters were apparently armed, which created some serious vitriol in the aftermath of the incident.
Tuesday evening, a slew of skateboarders set up an impromptu event, bombing Dolores hill and police blocked off the boulevard. That didn’t stop anyone. And serious chaos ensued:
The event is still under investigation. Thrasher magazine’s Jake Phelps got involved (he’s in his 50s) and took one of the most wicked wipeouts of the gathering. Tension with police seems to be at an all time high throughout the country and clashes like this just add further evidence to the fact.
