On its best days, South Narrabeen’s tubes look like they’ve been teleported straight from another monstrous, unmistakable left. A lot of people make the Pipeline comparison, but beachbreaks like this Sydney staple have a way of weeding out the crowds on the best days.
Last week saw one of those swells — just the hungriest of tubehounds scrapping their way into big, offshore barrels and dodging mean closeouts. The kind of closeouts that hurt to watch.
While most highlight reels and edits tend to add some creative flair to keep up the pace and add excitement, this 10-minute clip from Thrillzandspillz opted to go with a soundtrack of howling winds and those thumping closeouts. It definitely gives a sense of the intensity on August 6.
