STANDUP PADDLEBOARDS

Bic Cross Platinum 10′ with Ace-Tec

It’s no secret that Bic Sport has been around a while, but what you might not know is that they were one of the early adopters of SUPs. Bic owns the manufacturing process of all their SUPs and surfboards giving them a close eye on their Ace-Tec and Dura-Tec processes (the former is their lightweight premium technology, the latter is their indestructible technology). It’s about time Bic gets some recognition for their work in surf/SUP. While they might not have the sexiest graphics or outrageous marketing materials, they did largely drive the innovation of today’s SUP starting with their work in kiteboards in the ’70s.

Riviera Door 2.0 aka The Double Ender

Riviera will custom build any board to fit your exact needs. In the background is a custom shaped competition ready five fin SUP surfboard that weighs about 12 lbs, made for pro SUP surfer, Ryan Helm. In the front is the retail version called the Door 8’6″. This particular hybrid board known as a fish is perfect for those wanting to dabble in both flatwater SUP and SUP surf. With minimal graduated rocker and a shape that even kids can keep stable, it’s a great introductory board to the “other side.”

WETSUITS

Body Glove REFLE-X

The new REFLE-X wetsuit is the successor of the highly popular Vapor X with Red Cell technology. The technology is called Red Cell because there is a big red X across the back of the suit that captures heat from the sun in cells just like a fleece jacket stores heat from the sun in hollow fibers.

Hyperflex VooDoo

Hyperflex continuously puts out quality suits at a reasonable price, and the VooDoo 3/2 mm is no different. Coming in at a respectable $250, it’s refreshing to see an affordable and dependable suit without all the pomp and circumstance of the big neoprene slingers.
