Tenōre just opened a flagship store in Waikiki. This is the first-ever store for Pat Tenore’s new company, founded after he dramatically exited RVCA.
The 12,000 square-foot, two-story store is located in the Waikiki Shopping Plaza, as Shop Eat Surf reports. The first floor of the space hosts the main retail space, as well as rotating art exhibitions. The second floor will have a studio for wellness and athlete workshops, community events and live music.
“We are excited to bring the Tenōre ethos to life here in Waikiki,” said Pat Tenore. “As we expand Tenōre’s presence, it felt natural to dedicate a space to the people we design and curate for — a place that’s more than just a store to shop. It’s where the community can come together regularly to connect and experience culture, wellness, and creativity first-hand. That’s what the Highest of the Ordinary is all about — elevating above what is considered standard.”
The founding of Tenōre was itself somewhat of a shakeup in the world of surf and skate retailers. Tenore created the company in 2024 after being part of a round of layoffs at RVCA, the company he originally founded, when it was acquired by Authentic Brands. The move also prompted some former RVCA sponsees to jump ship, including Billy Kemper, who stated “It’s unfortunate that only a few of us were even offered a contract to stay with a brand that was built with team effort guided by the one and only P Tenore. That being said, without him there’s no leadership and with no leader there’s no tribe.”
