Remember when Southern California spent an entire winter in the doldrums? The ocean hit the mute button for months on end, forcing residents who spend their lives thinking about waves to fall into an ever-deepening, wave-starved depression. Oh, it was bad! But then luck—a south with a bit of meat on it finally graced the area. You could almost feel the sigh of relief. Like a dried out sponge finally falling into a bucket, the dehydrated folks swelled back up, some until they bloated. Under a typically grey May sky, Blair Conklin, Bill Bryan, and a bunch of their dried out friends got a long-awaited soak at the Aliso Wedge on May 22nd.
