The Inertia

Every year for the last six years, The Inertia has thrown a little shindig. It’s an event called EVOLVE, and it celebrates unique individuals who’re making a positive impact in surf and outdoor culture. Not to toot our own horn, but this year, we outdid ourselves. It wasn’t so much us, though — it was the friends who attended and the party, along with the bands that played and the brands that helped.

It really was a night to remember. Will Henry of Save the Waves broke down exactly how Save the Waves began saving waves. The SRF Surf Fitness Team, along with professional surfer Nolan Rapoza, came on stage to talk about the benefits of surf-specific training and what it’s done for Rapoza, whose performance in recent years is testament to just how important training is.

Next up was our premiere of GEN UP: Sierra, a new film featuring Sierra and Josh Kerr. It was a few years in the making, and finally getting to see it on the big screen with all the attendees felt incredibly special. When the house lights flicked back on, Josh and Sierra took the stage to talk about the making of the film and Sierra’s plans for the future. When that was said and done, the crowd moved outside to listen to The Alive and The Aquadolls blow the doors off. To all those who showed up to partake in the festivities with us, we’d like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. A good party isn’t a good party without a good crowd, and you were all the best crowd we could have asked for. To those who couldn’t make it… well, we hope to see you next year.

The Inertia’s EVOLVE presented by White Claw was made possible through the support of our partners: Kona Big Wave, KOE Kombucha, PH Hydration, Surf Ready Fitness, Rivian, High Tide Coffee, Nomadix, ISLE, YEW! Surf Wax, and Catch Surf.
