The Inertia

Traffic is just the worst, isn’t it? Gridlocked, exhaust puking lineups of cars full of angry people honking and swearing is gross. Every now and then, sitting inside your car, you’ll see someone cruise by with the wind in their hair, pedalling their way to wherever they’re going, smiling to themselves.

You feel like a sucker, sitting there at a dead standstill… until you realize that he’s got to actually use his muscles to get where he’s going like some kind of Amish peasant. “It’s the future, damn it,” you think to yourself as your muscles atrophy inside your steel death box. “Muscles? I don’t want to use muscles!” Well, now you don’t have to. You can be that smug bicycle guy with the wind in your hair AND get to where you’re going. Sure, electric bikes have been around forever, but now Jeff Clark of Maverick’s fame is telling you to get one. And this one’s aimed directly at surfers.

It’s the Vintage Electric Cruiser. “When I first stumbled onto Vintage Electric,” Clark says, “I had fond memories of the bikes we rode as kids and they also reminded me of cool old surf cars and I immediately wanted one.”

It’s got a 702 watt lithium battery that’ll last up to 35 miles, but it doesn’t come cheap. The Jeff Clark Signature Cruz in the video above will run you nearly $6,000, but if you’re a person with money to burn and a hatred of traffic jams, it’s perfect. See more about it HERE.
