A few days ago, the Longboard Pro Espinho kicked off. This year, it kicked off at Praia de Baia’s thumping beachbreak. If you ride longboards, you know that big, warbly, thumping beachbreaks are not the easiest to navigate, but some of the best longboarders on earth managed it just fine.
“The day dawned looking a bit like small-to-mid-sized Backdoor and Pipe,” wrote the WSL. “Not the favored conditions for pros using 9 feet of foam and epoxy resin—and like yesterday, once the tide filled in, conditions proved more manageable.”
In the end, Justin Dupont and Edouard Delpero came away victorious, and oh, what a show they put on!
