If you hadn’t heard, Blair Conklin busted up his ankle whilst riding a board of some kind and hasn’t been able to skim much lately (or ride anything standing up for that matter). But, being as he can ride anything, he’s been able to boogie board a fair bit. And of course film other skimmers having the time of their lives.
If you’ve checked out the YouTube page Skim Kids this year, you might have noticed that Aliso Creek has become the spot de jour, of late (it’s always been fairly popular in the skim crowd). But it’s the combo factor these days. Aliso Creek busted loose again in north Laguna Beach recently, forming a rippable river wave. Not to mention the ocean waves were fun enough to skim, too – with offshore winds to butter them up. A delectable two-fer that Mr. Conklin has been taking fair advantage of this year. Unfortunately, on this round, he may not have been able to ride, but he was still able to capture some stellar footy for the vlog.
