Big wave surfing has been all the talk lately. From hairy Mavericks and the Titans contest, to maxed out epic Waimea and The Eddie getting the nod, to ferocious Jaws… it’s been all about big boards for the last couple of weeks.
Videographer, Andy Johnson brings us a fun video highlighting a much different breed of big wave surfing. This edit showcases the carnage and the body-whomping spectacle of a south swell hitting Newport Beach, CA. It’s scary. It’s funny. It’s kind of strange. But, the one thing that’s forever certain… The Wedge is always entertaining to watch.
