The Inertia

They say a lot of things about brothers. “To the outside world we all grow old,” said Clara Ortega. “But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we’ve always been… We live outside the touch of time.” Ain’t that sweet?

But if you have one, you know it’s not all roses. It’s black eyes, wedgies, and ratting on each other. It’s screaming matches over nothing, purple nurples, and wet willies. “He’s rude, arrogant, intimidating and lazy,” said Noel Gallager about Liam. “He’s the angriest man you’ll ever meet. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.” But still, all those bad things are mixed in with lots more good–and most of the time, all of that bad is actually a good thing. A brother is a person who you can truly be yourself around.

Take the Prairie brothers, for instance. Tanner and Levi have surely had their fair share of spats, just like all brothers. But despite them–or maybe because of them–they’ve grown up to be as thick as thieves. Their surfing’s a little different than the norm, and it’s cold cucumbers on tired eyes.
