Surfboard reviews fall into two categories. The first tells you what design features makes a board model unique, and in theory what these features are supposed to allow you to do. The second is all about firsthand experience – how it felt paddling, standing up, speed, control, yadda yadda. Board reviews are useful if not a little dry, but people watch them. Namely because ordering a custom board or picking something off the rack requires putting down a healthy wad of cash, and if you’re going to do that you want to hear good things about what you’re buying.
A few years ago, Tate MacDowell decided to review Channel Islands’ #4 on his Youtube channel, and it’s a little different than what viewers might expect. It’s not so serious, but hey it may make you want to buy a #4 because it’s so hilarious.
