The Wedge is wedging. After the break’s season opened roughly a month ago, there’s been more than a few swells to awaken the beast. To celebrate, skimboarder Blair Conklin grabbed an unsuspecting Aussie and chucked him into the fray.
“SkidKids takes an Australian to Wedge for his maiden voyage on the 4’10” Twig,” wrote the YouTube skimboarding mainstay in the caption to their latest video. “Dawson found the diamonds in the rough while Blair and Flynn pick off the scraps. The Australian caught one closeout and couldn’t breathe after. That is a pretty good indicator of how it usually goes when you surf here. It is very difficult to be on the make-able waves there because all the regulars and locals are very good at picking the right ones. If it is your first time you are usually picking off the scraps.”
