The Inertia

The term, “Dawn Patrol” means completely different things to different people. For some, it means beautiful sunrises with cloudless skies, and 65 degree, sheet glass water. For others, it’s more unfavorable; foggy, cold, dark, and daunting. But, for most of us, it really doesn’t matter because we’re never up before the sun anyway.

However, for a few brave souls, it takes on a much more extreme definition. I can’t even imagine the froth that would fuel a morning routine like this one, and I commend any of the valiant people that endure these conditions.

So, please admire a surfer simply doing what a surfer has got to do. And as you sip your coffee and turn the thermostat up to a comfortable 65 degrees, I urge you to imagine this as your morning surf routine. It might make you reconsider hitting the snooze at 4:30 a.m., just because you saw a couple of leaves ruffle in the wind out your bedroom window.
