Despite the very lackadaisical first half of Snapper Rocks, the WSL kicked off the year with quite the bang. In addition to paying $100k to extend the event, f-bombs were dropped, the first-ever rock ‘n roll in competition was executed, and upsets were as abundant as meat pies and utes in Australia. While the entertainment level in the water was high, the behind-the-scenes footage may have proved to be as equally entertaining. Who knew John John was such a cuddler and that Brett Simpson took a fin up his rear-end?
