The Inertia

Do these grommets have the life, or what? Most kids go to Space Camp, or Church Camp… or just camp. These kids get to go to Rip Curl Grom Camp. It’s such a cool program they have going on, too. And it’s also looking like it’s working. These kids are freakin’ shredding.

Good on ya, Rip Curl. Keep grooming today’s grommets to be champions. You’ve already got Gabby and Mick on board. By the time they’re looking at retirement, I think a couple of these kids might be ready to take over.

From Rip Curl:
With veteran team captain Kekoa Bacalso leading the charge, this year’s Rip Curl Grom Camp featured 10 young wave warriors battling the constantly changing North Shore conditions and putting their skills to the ultimate test.

From maxed out Pipe, to pumping Rocky Point, the groms surfed from sunrise to sunset. When the entire coastline was barraged with over-sized swells, the team Searched high and low for nooks that would allow them to get in the water. After twelve days of broken boards, giggle attacks, sunburns, and countless barrels, it was time for the crew to pack up for home.

Mission accomplished; confidence was gained, lessons were learned, and on their next voyage the North Shore the Rip Curl groms will only be that much more prepared.
