The Inertia

Dopamine is exactly why we become so infatuated with waves and the act of riding them. It’s why we write and philosophize and ponder the idea that at some point in our surf life we may or may not be addicted. Because that simple little neurotransmitter and its ability to poke at us with feel-good tingles over and over and over are exactly why we keep coming back. Dopamine is why we spring out of bed before dark when it’s freezing outside and put on still-damp wetsuits for dawn patrol — all because we want that tiny little reward to tingle in the reward centers of our brain.

So yeah, we’d say Victor Duvignac pretty much nailed it when he named his newest edit, Dopamine.
