Coco Ho grew up with surfing in her blood. It’s a family affair—between her dad, her uncle, and her brother, Coco was destined for surf greatness. “The Ho family is the most royal Hawaiian family that’s ever touched the ocean,” said Stephanie Gilmore. “You want to be a part of their gang. You want to go surfing with them. You want to learn from Mike.”
Coco started relatively late, though—if 7-years-old can be considered late—and like most younger siblings, was only interested in impressing Mason. “I just remember trying to impress my brother,” she said. “My whole growing up was all to impress Mason.”
She’s been on the tour for a long time now. A decade of competitive surfing has seen her through a lot of personal growth, and Volcom’s profile follows her the whole way.
