The Inertia

Twiggy absolutely sent it this morning. You expect carnage in any big wave arena but every once in a while a wipeout comes along that’s going to be burned into your mind’s eye. And this is one of those wipeouts.

It’s how you’d imagine Wile E. Coyote’s big wave surfing experience: taking off dangerously deep, the bottom completely falling out from beneath his feet, and a moment or two of suspension. No need for gravity. Then…boom.

In the grand scheme of things the day went top to bottom without any serious injuries. And in the big wave world that is always the greatest thing to be thankful for. Once that dust settles, we can sit and praise people like this who do the unthinkable.
