The Inertia

No legs, no worries. Well, at least it isn’t for these inspiring optimists. Despite their challenge, this unique group of surfers from Australia are gearing up to represent their country in the first-ever ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championships, a one-of-a-kind surf contest which is set to run September 24-27 in La Jolla, California.

Recently, the ISA teamed up with the Challenged Athletes Foundation – one of the prominent leaders in the physically challenged sports community – in order to unify global efforts for the advancement and empowerment of such surfers. Supporters hope the contest will serve as a catalyst to create a leading platform for physically challenged surfers who wish to show off their skill in competition. After all, we’ve all seen these guys are just as willing and capable as anyone else. Just look at what Mike Coots is doing!

Head on over to the ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championships website to see how you can get involved.
