Jamie Mitchell is from the Gold Coast of Australia. He’s a regular face in gigantic waves, though–and he almost always impresses. On December 20th at Maverick’s, a drone buzzed over Jamie as he dropped into one of the biggest waves of the day, rides for as long as he can, and then takes one of the most savage beatings Mavs dished out that day.
He entered this clip into both the Billabong Ride of the Year and the Wipeout of the Year categories of the 2015 XXL Big Wave Awards… how cool would it be to win both of those with the same wave?
