Surfing at Malibu is strange. Dropping in is the norm. Snaking someone isn’t exactly frowned upon–it’s just expected. It’s frustrating, but it’s also a testament to the quality of the wave. The fact that so many will endure the ruthless burnings all for a few perfect waves, as David Rensin put it, speaks volumes. Even the best aren’t immune.
